At the beginning of the 20th century, a traveling circus stopped near the Bishop's Palace in Montreal, and a young lion escaped from its cage.

The animal calmly crossed the street and settled in the palace garden, causing a silent panic among the people.

The bishop, who remained impressively calm, is said to have muttered, "Even lions seek blessings."

The story quickly spread throughout the parishes, becoming a local fable about courage... and poorly closed fences.
